    Job Summary

    The Logistics and Operations Lead exists to provide professional support for the Minnesota Department of Health's (MDH) COVID-19 Community Coordinator initiative through logistics and operations management. The position is also responsible for:
    • Providing oversight on the operations and logistical support to COVID-19 Community contracts. This will include triaging requests and needs from the community to the Health Equity Bureau and other areas of MDH, other state agencies, and local public health partners. The community partnership work will also include participating in community conversations, presentations, and helping to plan COVID-19 testing events. The position will also support the implementation, coordination and evaluation of contracts and grants as provided by the state legislature and other funding sources for COVID response.
    • Coordinating engagement with community partners, including contracted community-based organizations (CBOs) and diverse community media partners, local public health partners, and other state agencies.
    • Providing technical assistance to community partners, including those that may have limited experience in applying for and implementing a state funded grant or contract. The position is responsible for co-developing innovative strategies to enhance grantee and/or contractor performance and two-way meaningful relationships using a health equity lens. The position demands strong written and oral communication skills; there are significant written reports and summaries required.
      This position works with our communities most impacted including populations of color, American Indian, LGBTQ+ and disability communities. This position triages requests and needs from communities most impacted by inequities to the appropriate areas within MDH, other state agencies, and local public health.

        Qualifications

        Minimum Qualifications
        • 3 years of experience in logistics, operations management, or project management.
        • Experience working with community-based organizations (CBOs), local public health agencies, or other state agencies.
        • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and managing community engagement initiatives.
        • Experience providing technical assistance and support to community partners or grantees.
          Qualifications to be assessed at interview:
          • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to triage and prioritize multiple requests and needs.
          • Understanding of public health principles and practices, particularly in relation to health equity and community health.
          • Familiarity with the needs and challenges faced by populations most impacted by health inequities, including populations of color, American Indian, LGBTQ+, and disability communities.
            Preferred Qualifications
            • Experience in managing large-scale public health initiatives, including contract and grant management.
            • Expertise in developing and implementing strategic plans and innovative solutions in a public health context.
            • Experience in data-driven decision-making and using data to inform public health strategies and interventions.
            • In-depth knowledge of state and federal funding mechanisms, grant application processes, and contract management.
