Position SummaryThe Associate Vice President of Human Resources
is a strategic senior-level professional responsible for overseeing
a significant portion of the organization's human resources
functions including employee relations, compensation & benefits,
talent acquisition, HR compliance, individual, organizational &
culture development, and performance management, reporting and
analysis, while aligning human resources strategies with the
overall business goals and objectives. This role is responsible for
delivering proactive, strategic guidance, and support for
organizational planning and development initiatives that align
human resources strategy in support of key organization-wide
initiatives and goals, as well as building a high-performing human
resources team.ResponsibilitiesEmployee Relations (20%)
- Managing employee concerns, addressing workplace issues,
investigating complaints, and ensuring compliance with labor laws
while promoting positive workplace dynamics.
- Serve as trusted counsel to staff in the areas of culture,
change management, employee wellness, learning and development, and
career pathways, with a focus on deepening employee engagement and
cultivating a sense of belonging.
- Act as a resource for staff questions on benefits, payroll and
other personal related items.
- Partner with other departments and the leadership team to align
human resources initiatives with business objectives.
- Serve as a resource for leadership team related to all human
resources matters.Compensation & Benefits (20%)
- Lead the design and administration of compensation structures,
benefits packages, and performance-based incentives.
- Oversee the weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for union and
non-union full-time and part-time employees.Talent Acquisition
(15%)
- Leading the recruitment process for key positions, managing
candidate sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding new
employees.
- Identify staffing and recruiting needs; develop and execute
best practices for hiring and talent management by developing
recruitment strategies, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews,
and managing the hiring process.HR Compliance (15%)
- Ensure adherence to all applicable employment laws and
regulations, including maintaining employee records and conducting
compliance audits.
- Monitor and ensure the organization's compliance with federal,
state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended
best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to
maintain compliance.
- Interpret and enforce collective bargaining agreements.
- Plan, lead, develop, coordinate and implement policies,
processes and training, initiatives, and surveys to support the
organization's human resources compliance and strategy
needs.Individual, Organizational and Culture Development (15%)
- Provide strategic leadership to the human resources function,
aligning human resources initiatives with organizational objectives
and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Identify training needs, developing and delivering training
programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Facilitate professional development, training, and
certification activities for human resources staff.
- Develop and execute change management strategies and plans to
support major organizational initiatives and transitions.
- Assess organizational health, identifying training needs,
implementing development programs, fostering a positive
culture.
- Promote employee health and safety and providing wellness
initiatives.
- Coach, mentor, and guide employees to enhance their
capabilities and engagement.Performance Management, Reporting and
Analysis (15%)
- Implement and monitor performance management systems, including
goal setting, performance reviews, and employee development
plans.
- Analyze human resources data to identify trends, develop
insights, and make informed decisions regarding human resources
strategies.
- Conduct research and analysis of organizational trends
including review of reports and metrics from the organization's
human resources information system (HRIS), Paylocity.
- Develop human resources annual budget in coordination with the
finance team to align with organizational goals and
strategies.Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources management or a related
field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 7 years of experience within Human Resources.
- Minimum 5 years of experience within a leadership role with
Human Resources.
- Extensive experience in various HR functions, including
recruitment, employee relations, compensation, and benefits.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to analyze data and make strategic
decisions.
- Deep understanding of employment laws and regulations.
- Expertise in HR technology and systems.
- Experience partnering with unions and implementing collective
bargaining agreements.
- Extensive payroll experience.Physical and Schedule Requirements

functions.Salary Description: $120,000-$140,000 Per Year
