Job Description:

The Director of Personalized Communications Engineering will lead our communications engineering and CRM operations team in developing and integrating cutting-edge personalized customer communication solutions that make smarter decisions on how and when to communicate through email, SMS, push and other vehicles. In this role, you will leverage customer data and insights to design features for smarter and more targeted communications. It requires a strategic thinker with hands-on expertise in both custom-built solutions and vendor technologies. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical prowess, and data driven operational thinking to drive innovation and deliver solutions tailored to our product needs.
This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days on site at a Best Buy location and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process. For this role, you must be located within a drivable distance to our office in Richfield, Minnesota, or Atlanta, Georgia.What you'll do
Develop and execute the overall strategy for personalized communication solutions, aligning with product goals and objectives in GCP and AWS.Provide architecture insight into tool and vendor strategy for a seamless communications platform.Lead and mentor a team software engineers and data driven operations engineers focusing on analytics and reporting to ensure successful CRM campaigns with specialized audience targeting.Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
Ensure high standards of quality, performance, and reliability in all custom-built systems.
Ensure smooth integration of vendor technologies with existing systems, addressing compatibility, security, and performance considerations.
Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope.
Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
Minimum qualifications

8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree OR equivalent relevant professional experience; 2 years experience managing and leading engineering teams; 1 year managing managers
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Strong understanding of CRM functions, personalized communication systems, protocols, and technologies.
3+ years of experience building custom systems, cloud environments (GCP & AWS) and architecture design in large environments Experience with Agile methodologies and modern software development practices including Scrum and Kanban
Preferred qualifications

11+ years of relevant professional experience
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
5 years or more experience working with marketing engineering teams
Experience with Salesforce, MessageGears or similar tools and traditional communication vehicles
5 years experience with engineering custom solutions using modern languages, cloud technologies and SDLC practices and tools.
Experience working in retail, marketing, or similar technologies and related areas
