Our Opportunity:Chewy is looking for a Sr. Technical Product
Manager in Minneapolis MN supporting the Outbound Science and
Technology org, which develops modern cloud-based microservices
that support the back end of Chewy's ecommerce platform. This team
helps to ensure great customer experience through timely and
effective handling of customer orders. Chewy's fulfillment network
continues to grow in size and complexity, and this role is pivotal
in ensuring the systems in the path to fulfillment grow to meet
future needs.As a Sr. TPM, you will play a central role in driving
business metrics associated with one or more software products.
Responsibilities include consolidating and prioritizing the team's
software development roadmap, working with customers to develop and
translate business and product requirements. You will engage with
peer engineering teams to understand and handle dependencies.
You'll work with your management team to complete the roadmap and
run priorities. You and your team's development manager will own
product vision, roadmap, set deliverables, defining critical
metrics, and ensure they are met. You will evangelize to and on
behalf of the fulfillment software team across the
organization.What you'll do:
- Own and drive the optimization of one or more key business
metrics.
- Handle design and improvements of cloud-based services that are
part of Fulfillment Planning Team's roadmap.
- Define and/or translate organizational level business
opportunities, requirements, use cases into actionable development
work that addresses current and future business needs.
- Set and supervise critical metrics to assess performance,
providing data-driven insights for continuous improvement, making
sure your team understands and is able to meet business
requirements, SLAs, and key performance indicators.
- Collaborate with peer teams to ensure org-wide best practices,
processes, and data flows are followed.
- Coordinate with business customers and partners to ensure your
team is delivering according to the constantly growing needs of the
business.
- Work with engineering team to resolve bottlenecks to ensure
that programs stay on track and help deliver results.
- Coordinate activities across different interpersonal functions
for initiatives.
- Be responsible for the final system results and the overall
roadmap for your area of responsibility.
- Review and report on progress for initiatives/projects,
handling project risks - including the development of contingency
plans.What you'll need:
- 5+ years of Technical Product Management or Project Management
experience!
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science,
Operations Management or Business Administration.
- Technically savvy, including in-depth knowledge of public
cloud, software development, and system integration.
- Ability to perform business requirements analysis and design,
architect high-level system plans (solution architecting).
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with
attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of cross-functional
and multidisciplinary teams.
- Capability to identify and mitigate development and
implementation risks.
- Ability to travel (10%).Bonus:
- Experience with AWS Cloud technologies!
- Agile experience (Product Owner), running sprints, stand-ups,
and backlog.
- Experience in ecommerce, supply chain, fulfillment,
transportation or logistics.
- Experience mentoring and coaching colleagues.Compensation and
Benefits:The specific salary offered to a candidate may be
influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the
candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In
addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and
