Position Summary
The Department of Neonatology at Children's Minnesota is seeking a
board-certified/board-eligible neonatologist to join their group of
24 neonatologists. Experience of at least 3 years in neonatology
practice is desired, and an appropriate candidate could be
considered for the medical directorship of the Level IV NICU in
Minneapolis or the Level III NICU in St Paul. Neonatologists at
Children's Minnesota care for babies across the entire spectrum of
neonatal care including those requiring ECMO and those with major
surgical conditions. The department also works closely with the
active fetal program at the Michael and Ann Ciresi Midwest Fetal
Care Center that performs all fetal interventional offerings
including treatment of twin to twin transfusion syndrome, EXIT
procedures and fetal repair of MMC.
The successful candidate will have expertise to provide for babies
across the spectrum of neonatal care rotating in the Level III and
Level IV NICUs in St. Paul and Minneapolis and in partner neonatal
programs at community sites. Neonatologists work in a
multidisciplinary collaborative care model across all our sites.
With nearly 200 neonatal beds in our neonatal units, we care for -
3,000 babies every year, with an active neonatal transport program
that provides both air and ground transport to - 500 babies
annually.
The department has a decades-long history of active participation
in numerous clinical research trials, has an active department of
quality and is a member of the Children's Hospital Neonatal
Consortium. Children's Minnesota also serves as a training site for
the neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship program at the
University of Minnesota.

*Ability to be successfully credentialed by both Hospital and 3rd Party Payers.
Required Education:
*Must have an M.D., D.O. or equivalent degree from another country with a current Minnesota Medical License or the ability to obtain one.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
*Clinical competency and expertise in caring for hospitalized children.
*Strong understanding of examination methodologies and diagnostics.
*Knowledge of common medication, side effects and contraindications.
*In-depth knowledge of legal medical guidelines and medicine best practices.
