Volt is immediately hiring a Deburrer Marker in Elk River, MN 55330


As a Deburrer Marker- you will be responsible for;

Primary Objective of Position:
Perform production operations of deburring and marking for standard finish or low R.A. micro finish.
Verify expected results with appropriate production gauging.
Deburring and marking shall be of quality and workmanship to conform to engineering and other appropriate specifications.
Major Areas of Accountability:
Production Equipment - Sets-up and runs the following:
o Laser marker
o Surface measuring equipment
o Bridgeport
o Other miscellaneous production equipment
o Deburring equipment
o Marking equipment
o Degreasers
o Speed Lathe
Marking/Serializing - Run marking/serializing equipment and maintain traceability throughout all processes. Mark components per processes and special instructions that are provided by our customers.
Maintain Tolerances and Finishes - Maintains tolerances and finishes as identified by manufacturing specifications and/or work instructions. Performs quality functions according to Quality Assurance department using total quality tools.
Produce Product - Produces product in deburring/marking to meet the requirements of department standards.
Care of Equipment - Exercises proper care of equipment and maintains a clean and organized work area.
Process Improvement - Demonstrates and supports the efforts of process improvement by recommending methods, equipment, techniques and other changes to improve machine shop operations. Assists in documentation and control of processes in accordance with process change/control policy. Seeks and recommends ways to eliminate potential quality problems, to improve procedures and methods, and to increase department/division productivity.
Safety - Performs work in a safe manner by following all safety rules, and insuring safety guards are in place on all machines worked with.
Productivity and Efficiency - Seeks and recommends ways to eliminate potential quality problems and to improve procedures and methods to increase department/division productivity. Produces product to meet and/or exceed department standards and expectations. Understands the work flow in the area to constantly move the product through the area, while maintaining the quality of the product.
Assist in Training - Assists in training and monitoring of workmanship of others in department. Trains others on the deburring and marking processes and process control policy as requested. Provides work direction of others as requested by supervisor.
Apparent or Assigned - Performs any other work as apparent or assigned that may include job assignments outside of the deburring job description.

Qualifications for Entry:
High school education/GED.
Thorough knowledge of deburring processes and process change procedure.
Demonstrated ability to produce low R.A. micro finishes.
Demonstrated ability to apply basic math, i.e. decimal and fractional equivalent for measurement purposes.
Demonstrated ability to read blueprints.
Physical ability to work with and handle small parts.
Physical ability to lift, carry or maneuver up to 40 lbs.
Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal/written) effectively with customers, suppliers and employees.
Demonstrated ability to work in a cooperative and team oriented environment.
Demonstrated ability to use a Profilometer to measure surface finishes.

Location: Elk River, MN 55330
Duration: 9 months(possible extensions)
Shift: 1st shift
Pay: $18.00/hr.- $20.00/hr.
