Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a
Communications Specialist for a contract position in MN. The
opportunity will be one year with a strong chance for a long-term
extension.
Position Summary: The Communications Specialist will provide
strategic communications consultation and guidance to various
clients. The Specialist will plan, drive, implement, monitor, and
measure results of communications plans to advance the client's
mission, strategic plan, and business objectives. The Specialist
has strong skills in the field of communications, media relations,
social media, digital, news and/or staff engagement communications
activities. Demonstrates a strong understanding of the
communications discipline along with critical thinking and
strategic counseling skills. Represents client's internally and
externally. Demonstrates project management skills and the ability
to manage projects through the entire project life cycle.
Demonstrates strong writing, editing, presentation, and
interpersonal skills. Proactively seeks opportunities to build and
improve positive relationships with colleagues, leaders, and
experts. Understands and acts independently to drive functional
strategies forward to advance client's mission, strategic plan, and
business goals. Builds credibility with peers and internal
stakeholders. Assesses opportunities for improvements, and
demonstrates willingness and ability to adapt to change.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:Understand and translate
the needs and goals of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine
into effective, integrated communication strategies.
Develop and execute strategic communication plans to enhance the
department's reputation as a Category of One for serious and
complex care among consumer, physician, and academic audiences.
Promote department priorities and transformative initiatives
through a wide variety of written, multimedia, and visual content
across various communication channels in collaboration with
multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, clinicians, and
allied health professionals.
Effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences,
including researchers, clinicians, staff, patients, and the general
public.
Generate and manage content for digital and social media platforms
to enhance online presence and visibility.
Leverage data and analytics to measure the impact of communication
efforts and adjust strategies accordingly.
Produce clear, well-written, grammatically correct, and factually
accurate copy and content.
Partner with Media Relations to coordinate *** experts for media
interviews or generate timely content for distribution to
media.
Qualifications: Broad-based knowledge of communications and
marketing strategies.
Experience supporting executive-level communication across a large,
matrixed department.
Strong written and oral communication skills. Exceptional business
writing, editing, storytelling, fact-checking, and proofreading
skills to deliver a message that is clear, accurate, and
persuasive.
The ability to communicate in a way that creates clarity,
simplifies messages, and aligns with organizational strategy.
Knowledge of channels for communication and the ability to build
effective communication and engagement strategies.
Requires strong leadership; problem-solving; critical thinking;
active listening; persuasive oral and written communication skills;
presentation skills; and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to manage
projects through the entire project life cycle.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to independently identify
opportunities/solutions and resolve challenges.
Demonstrated ability to deliver impactful results.
Must understand how to deal with and navigate ambiguity, and act
without having the total picture.
Position requires occasional travel and the flexibility to work
weekends and evenings as necessary.
A bachelor's degree in a related field, which may include liberal
arts, business, communications, marketing, healthcare, or similar
field, plus 3 years professional experience in a relevant
field.
