Job Description:
#AlliedJob SummaryThe individual is responsible for performing
delegated activities to support the operating room team in the care
of the surgical patient.Essential Functions* Under the supervision
of the Nurse Manager, Core Charge RN, and Core Supervisor, prepares
and delivers medical/surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment
for surgical procedures.* Cleans, packages, and processes surgical
equipment and instrumentation, as well as maintains inventory and
storage of supplies in the core.* Manages multiple computer
applications to assist with sterilization tracking and processes.*
Responsible for operating and troubleshooting power equipment to
process instruments (e.g., autoclaves, washer disinfector,
ultrasonic cleaners).Required Skills & Experience* Adapts to
unpredictable situations within the perioperative setting.* Proven
ability to communicate with a variety of people in a direct,
empathetic, and articulate manner.* Demonstrated patient-centered
and customer-focused communication skills.* Frequent
lifting/carrying of 25 pounds or more, with occasional work above
shoulder level.Preferred Skills & Experience* Prefer two years of
experience in the handling and sterilization processing of
surgical/medical/dental instrumentation within the past four years,
or a vocational certificate as Central Service Technician or
Patient Care Assistant within the last two years.* Alternatively,
at least two years of experience as a Central Service Technician or
Patient Care Assistant in an acute care setting within the last
five years.* Prefer knowledge of medical terminology.Required
EducationHigh School diploma or GED.Required Certifications &
Licensure* Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)
Certification as a Central Processing Technician (CRCST) within 18
months of hire.* Must be 18 years of age prior to the start
date.Preferred Certifications & Licensure* Vocational certificate
as Central Service Technician or Patient Care Assistant within the
last two years.* Two years of experience in the handling and
sterilization processing of surgical/medical/dental instrumentation
within the past four years.* At least two years of experience as a
Central Service Technician or Patient Care Assistant in an acute
care setting within the last five years.Additional InformationHours
Per Week: 40.00Hours Per Day: 8.00Days Per Week: 5.00Schedule
Notes: M-F, 8 hour shifts, 3-11:30pm, OVERTIME required as needed,
no weekends, no call.Job Type: 13 weeks contract with possible
extensionPay: $28.00 - $33.00 per hourJob Types: Full-time,
