Department Overview
The Child Life group promotes the continuous development of
children to optimize their responses to medical care, to minimize
psychological stress and trauma, and to increase understanding and
coping with illness and health care experiences. Child Life
provides children with opportunities for gaining a sense of
mastery, for play, for learning, for self-expression, for family
involvement and for peer interaction. As members of the health care
team, child life staff advocate for children and families in
ambulatory and inpatient settings. They serve as resources to all
staff and to the community on issues related to child development
and child health experiences.
Position Summary
The Resource Coordinator engages in work related to the management
of donated and purchased resources that are used in Child and
Family Services (CFS) and shared throughout Children's MN. This
includes communications with donors from the community, and
partners within Children's MN. Coordinator receives, processes,
organizes and distributes donations throughout Children's MN.
Manages and maintains department storage areas and resources for
CFS programming including communications with team members,
ordering, organizing and stocking. Provides support to volunteers
who work in select roles related to CFS programing including
engagement with training. Assists with planning and facilitation of
departmental events and programs, including those that include
patients and families, volunteers, and donors.

Education:
*Bachelor's degree preferred with content in child development,
education, psychology, supply chain management or related
field.
Experience:
*Experience working in a healthcare setting preferred.
*Experience teaching and/or supervising both individuals and groups
preferred.
*Experience in materials management, inventory, and supply ordering
preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
*Strong planning, organizational and decision-making skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
*Ability to work in a role that requires physical tasks.
*Excellent communication skills written and oral.
*Interaction skills with both children and adults.
*Experience and comfort using a variety of technology, ability to
learn new skills quickly.
*Ability to give and receive feedback.
The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on
salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or
national market. When determining individual pay rates, we
carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not
limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills,
education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate,
internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for
medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits.
Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be
eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
